The Possibilities of a Mexican Indigenous Cinema: "Itu Ninu"

Q&A with director Itandehui Jansen

Screening of the film "Itu Ninu"  (72 minute / Sci-Fi / Mixtec and English /Mexico & UK 2023) and Q&A with the director. 

In a highly controlled smart city in the year 2084 two climate migrants try to connect through old-fashioned letters.

 

Itandehui Jansen was born in Oaxaca, Mexico and studied film directing at the Netherlands Film Academy in Amsterdam. Her documentaries and short films have screened at international festivals such as the IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam), SLAMDANCE, The London Short Film Festival, ZINEBI, and the Morelia International Film Festival. At present she is Associate Professor of Film at Screen Academy Scotland, in Edinburgh.
