Maile Smith
Undergraduate Intern
Maile Smith is a fourth-year undergraduate majoring in Global Studies and Communications with a minor in Film, TV, and Digital Media. Her 12-year Chinese immersion education and international travel sparked a lifelong interest in global diplomacy and cross-cultural communication. Maile has interned with the National Committee on US-China Relations, Paramount Pictures (International Creative Advertising), and Warner Bros. Discovery (Communications and Operations). Following her work with UCLA’s Global Development Lab, she also worked for an international NGO. Maile contributes to the

, studied International Journalism at the London School of Economics, and recently spent a semester abroad in Madrid. Upon graduation, she plans to go abroad and pursue higher education. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses, reading, watching films, and traveling.
