Three leading scholars of Buddhism in Japan (Professors Ryoshu Okubo of Waseda Univ., Kenryo Minowa of Tokyo Univ., and Satoshi Sonehara of Tohoku Univ) will hold a workshop conducted IN JAPANESE. Prof. Okubo is known for his work on Japanese Tendai traditions, especially esoteric Tendai. Prof. Minowa is known for his work on vinaya revival movements, Nichiren Buddhism, and Buddhist debate in medieval times. And Prof. Sonehara is known for his work on Tokugawa period Tendai reform movements and traditions of debate and learning during the Tokugawa period. Please RSVP here by Friday, October 31st .
