In 2007, the city of Seoul set a goal to establish the clear identity of its city brand and enhance its competitiveness in tourism through city marketing. Seoul developed a city marketing strategy based on environmental analysis and put many action plans into practice (e.g. creating a new campaign slogan, launching TV commercials using K-POP stars, conducting the Seoul Infinite Dream Series). The number of tourists visiting Seoul has increased dramatically thanks to the success of these marketing campaigns. Seoul's city branding is still on-going.
