UCLA Health, Peking University International Hospital partnership

A new MOU signifies growing collaboration.

UCLA was honored to be selected as a partner university for Peking University’s new state-of-the-art International Hospital (PKUIH).  Dr. Mike Pfeffer, chief medical informatics officer at UCLA Health, and Dr. William Yang, professor in the department of psychiatry and biobehavioral sciences at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, attended the PKUIH inaugural Board Meeting and Opening Ceremony in early December.

“UCLA Health congratulates Peking University on the significant achievement of PKUIH and all of the opportunities it opens for improving patient care through education, research and collaboration,” remarked Dr. Pfeffer.

JRI facilitated the development and signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions. UCLA will offer training courses in its progressive style of patient-centered care, and the institutions will collaborate on medical research. Dr. Shan Wang, president of PKUIH, and Dr. Pfeffer signed the memorandum at the hospital’s Opening Ceremony on December 3, 2014.
