The Armenian Genocide Research Program (AGRP) of the Promise Armenian Institute (PAI) at UCLA is proud to announce several upcoming events in April 2026 to commemorate the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Documentary Screening: “What’s Next? Armenian Genocide Restitution in the Post-Recognition Era” — Friday, April 10, at 6:00 PM (PT)
In partnership with the Armenian Bar Association and the Armenian Film Foundation, the AGRP presents a screening of What’s Next: Armenian Genocide Restitution in the Post-Recognition Era, a documentary directed and produced by filmmaker Carla Garapedian. The film documents the proceedings of a March 2023 conference at UCLA that explored the future of restitution and justice following the U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide in 2021.

Armenian Genocide Commemoration Exhibition — Sunday, April 12, at 4:00 PM (PT)
The AGRP and the Ararat-Eskijian Museum (AEM) are pleased to announce an exhibition and discussion that highlights the visual culture of remembrance surrounding the Armenian Genocide. The exhibition will feature a collection of commemorative visual materials from Beirut, Lebanon, representing various years and perspectives of remembrance. These rare pieces offer valuable insight into how Armenian communities have memorialized the Genocide across time and geography. Click here for more information.

Lecture Series: “Looted Art as Part of the Reparation Movement”
Dual lectures in Massachusetts and New Jersey, titled “Nazi Looted Art Recovery as a Model for Recovery of AGLA: Armenian Genocide Looted Art,” will be led by AGRP Director Dr. Taner Akçam and Holocaust restitution expert Professor Michael Bazyler. The program examines efforts to recover Armenian cultural heritage looted during the Armenian genocide, drawing parallels with post-Holocaust restitution models, and advances the goals of the AGRP’s Armenian Genocide Looted Art Research Project.
