Gregory Pierce is a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Urban Planning. His dissertation focuses on the political, economic, and geographic factors which influence water access for household consumption, at three different scales: across low and middle income countries, at the state scale in India, and within the urban periphery of Hyderabad.

Greg is currently engaged in separate research projects which examine the capability of the Bangladeshi government to support livelihood transitions due to climate change, and the unique and contested dynamics of urban water privatization in India.  He also received a B.A. in Economics and History from UCLA in 2007, and a M.A. in Urban Planning from UCLA in 2011.
