EVENT CANCELED

Greta Berlin, (US, France) Greta is one of the five co-founders of the Free Gaza movement (www.freegazamovement.com) and has worked for justice for the Palestinians since the early 1960s. She has spoken at conferences around the world as well as in front of the European parliament in Brussles. Greta was the primary spokesperson for Freedom Flotilla 1 in May 2010, appearing on international media in Europe, the Middle East and the United States when the flotilla was attacked by Israeli commandos.  She has also written extensively on the issue, and her articles have appeared in publications from the U.S. to the Arab world.

Greta has been in the West Bank three times since 2003 working with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) in the occupied towns of Bil’in, Jenin or Ramallah or working in the media office. She was wounded in the leg by an Israeli rubber-coated steel bullet in July 2003 while protesting Israel’s apartheid wall. She was on the first boat into Gaza and has either organized or been in charge of the land and media team for most of the other voyages of the Free Gaza movement. Greta lives in Los Angeles and Grasse, France and is currently working with several initiatives to send a boat called Gaza’s Ark from Gaza to Europe.
