In a small, rural town in southern Brazil, a 16-year-old Bob Dylan fan spends hours on the internet using the codename Mr. Tambourine Man. His world revolves around his online blog and some enigmatic online photos and videos. Even as he dreams on leaving his hometown to attend a Dylan concert, his real obsession is with the online videos of a couple from his own town. The appearance of a mysterious figure fills the teenager with fascination and dread, in a world woven by dreams and reality.
"The drama’s gorgeous widescreen images emphasize the surreal isolation of the place—a remoteness that suggests no hope of escape and only adds fuel to Mr. Tambourine Man’s angst. Winner of the FIPRESCI Prize and Best Film at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, Filho’s mysterious and melancholy debut is as intriguing as it is unforgettable." - Pam Grady
