The U.S. government sponsors education exchange between the U.S. and Vietnam through a variety of programs including the Fulbright Program.  Ms. Do Thu Huong, Assistant of the Fulbright Program in Vietnam, will be visiting UCLA on Monday, November 1, 2010 to explain the program and answer any questions that people might have.

The program provides for both senior scholars and recent B.A. graduates to spend time in Vietnam teaching or doing individual research projects.  It also arranges for Vietnamese students and scholars to come to the U.S.

Ms. Do Thu Huong is the Program Assistant of the Fulbright Program in Vietnam, Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy in Hanoi, Vietnam. Ms. Do provides support for the academic exchange programs within Fulbright Program, including the U.S. Scholar Program, the Regional U.S. Scholar Program, the Regional and In-Country Occasional Lecturing Program for U.S. Scholars, the U.S. Student Program, the New Century Scholar Program, and the Vietnamese Visiting scholar Program. Her responsibilities cover all administrative aspects of the various programs including promotion, preliminary screening, affiliation, alumni networking, and other administrative duties. From March 1 to August 15, 2010, she served as the Acting Director of the Fulbright Program in Vietnam. She has an MA degree in business administration from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Bangkok-Thailand, and had seven years experience with various academic programs at the Asian Institute of Technology Center in Vietnam (AITCV) before she joined the Fulbright Program in Vietnam in June 2003.
