Please join on campus for an evening of music performed by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Cao Peng, former Shanghai Symphonic Orchestra conductor.

Established in 1896, SJTU is one of China's's premier universities. SJTU has a long history of arts education having its own symphonic orchestra since the 1920s. In 2001 and 2003, the SJTU orchestra won gold medals in international music competitions. To date the orchestra has performed in many countries around the world including Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Japan and New Zealand. The UCLA concert will be the orchestra's first performance in the United States.
