This series invites guests to discover various fascinating and perhaps little-known aspects of the Library, including exceptional collections and helpful services.

Professor Lauerhass will answer these questions as he delves into the art of collecting and discusses collectors – both individual and institutional – as well as collections and libraries.A UCLA lecturer emeritus in history and librarian emeritus, Lauerhass served as the Library’s Latin American bibliographer for twenty-five years, during which he added more than 225,000 volumes to its collections. In 2005 he established the Ludwig Lauerhass Jr. Endowed Collection in Brazilian Studies in the Charles E. Young Research Library Department of Special Collections to help the UCLA Library continue to enhance its Brazilian collections.
