Luce Colloquium: Christianity in China, Korea, and Japan: Past, Present, and Future

This lecture broadly surveys the megatrends in Christian religious development in three East Asian nations, China, Japan, and Korea, over the past four centuries. It compares the different growth patterns for Christianity in these three nations and analyzes the major political, social, regional, and cultural factors governing their unique trajectories. It will also explore the importance of the study of Korean Christianity in the context of emerging ¢®¡ÆSouthern Christianity¢®¡¾ and ¢®¡ÆEast Asian Christianity,¢®¡¾ as well as the pluralistic tendencies in Korean society, and the global Korean diaspora.
