What do the The Motorcycle Diaries, Brokeback Mountain and Babel have in common? Memorable musical scores by two-time Oscar© winning film composer Gustavo Santaolalla. With an unusual background that includes his pioneer work combining fusion rock and Latin American Folk with the groups Arco Iris and Bajofondo; serving as producer of Latin rock sensations Molotov, Café Tacuba and Juanes; and his success as a solo artist who brings the unique sound of the indigenous "charango" into the mix, Santaolalla has created a distinctive sound that moves us film after film. He comes to the Festival to explore a selection of his favorite scores of all time and lead us in a discovery of new sounds that will enlighten and surprise us.

Moderated by Elvis Mitchell, Curator, Film Independent at LACMA; Host, KCRW's The Treatment
